XL Carved Bone Pendant of Naga Buddha

In most Asian cultures that celebrate Buddhism - and especially in Burma, Laos and Thailand -  the Naga Buddha is an especially important symbol of protection.  A Buddha protected by the snake God is one protected Buddha! 

This oversized pendant is hand-carved from ox bone and stained (with tea) to a lovely shade of cedar brown.  It's been drilled and is ready to hang from a pinch bail or jump ring.

 This conversation-starter pendant or focal measures a full 3 3/4" in length, 1 7/8" wide.  It would also make a lovely addition to an altar or desktop that needs a reminder that both serenity and protection is at hand.
