Medium Navajo-Crafted New Mexico Zia Symbol Pendant with Turquoise Cabochon 29433
A 1 3/4” tall sterling silver pendant of the Zia symbol with a center stone of turquoise. Slightly larger than our small Zia pendant and unisex, the attached bail makes it ready to wear with a chain, cord or neck ring. Navajo-made in New Mexico.
The Zia sun symbol is the state symbol for New Mexico but, even more importantly, it was a sacred symbol to the Zia tribe. The distinctive cross-like pattern with four “arms” is believed to symbolize the circle of life and includes the four directions, the four elements, the four seasons and the four stages of life.
Crafted by a Navajo silversmith, our Zia pendant is sterling silver with a turquoise cabochon in the center. It measures 1 3/4” in height including the slightly oversized bail and is ready to hang on a chain, cord or to incorporate into a design of your own making.
