A striking and quite collectible hand-carved 11” tall retablo with a hand-painted canvas of the Madonna with Child in the “Cusco/Cuzco School” (European Renaissance) style.
Heavy three-dimensional carving accentuates the inset retablo that’s hand-painted on canvas and extraordinarily detailed. Below the canvas lies a “blessings” drawer where small tokens such as Milagros or photos can be placed or hand-written prayers or ex votos.
The carved frame is covered in a gesso-like coating and features gold leaf.
Ready to hang.
