Carved Chinese Seal with Turtle Handle
$24.00
Centuries ago, seals were common throughout Asia as a way to affix a family or company "signature" (also known as a chop) to a document or a piece of art and this seal features a nicely carved design on its bottom.
Measuring 2 1/2 and 1 1/4" wide, a handsome and stalwart turtle forms the seal's handle - steady and slow wins the race! - and his shell is beautifully etched. The colors of the stone are predominantly a dark, almost-olive green and shades of brown.
